Infomercials

Does anyone actually buy the things on infomercials? And where do they come up with some of these things? I mean I understand the weight loss ones or the face creams and all that because i could see some people buying into that, but what about the weird products out there like that golf club you can pee in or the snuggie? Why would anyone buy half this crap? Infomercials should just go away and stop taking over the TV.
