Mobile advertising firm Jumptap said that tablets saw huge increase in web traffic, especially Android with Kindle Fire leading the way.
The 26th January saw an increase of 229 percent over any previous average day, while traffic climbed even higher - by 263 percent on January 2.
Jumptab said that the increase of traffic is probably from getting familiar with their devices (uploading holiday photos and videos)
Amazon reported to have 30 percent web traffic with Kindle Fire by the end of the last year, up from 10 percent on January 1.
Also Android devices have overtaken iOS traffic. Android’s share grew 21 percents from 38 percent in December 2010 to 59 percent in December 2011, while iOS dropped 7 percent from 29 percent to 22 percent in the same time.
Android traffic quadrupled while iOS traffic tripled.
